I'm likely to be alone here, but with throwbacks to old Whalers, it just doesn't look right with the gloves. Back in that era, the backhand had a lot of contrast from the often white branding of the different companies. It could be this was the Hurricanes call, but Aho's Coverts would have looked spot on with the accent striping in white instead of the plain blue-on-blue. The pants look nice, but the gloves ruin it for me.
I still love 90's gloves. I can't think of anything that looks better than classic 90's CCM or Cooper 5 rolls. Even Winnwells and Vaughns from that era catch my eye on eBay when I come across them. I wish the 90's glove look had its due along with the rest of the throwback kits.

to be honest, I like the look of the whalers gloves more in NHL 17. The finger details and lines are nice. But regardless, they will be a nice piece to add to the collection.
Pros using retail sticks? What is this, the KHL?
I mean it’s not going to do any better than his last one if it flies off again...
Custom everything.

No current Bauer helmet has the small vents just below the number decal, so I’d say it’s unreleased. Is it a reakt 200 or something unreleased? I mean it’s not going to do any better than his last one if it flies off again...

The Reakt 200 didn’t take off because it makes your head look like a watermelon and its way too expensive.
Bauer’s target demographic for that lid is psychotic parents that want to wrap their kid in bubble wrap before they step on the ice.
Seems like other companies are following suit

1. Pro/VN option ala 4500 and the entry level Tacks bucket.
2. Streamlined helmet with sufficient protection that’s widely used in the show - Reakt/Reakt 100/Tacks 710 and 310
3. NASA moon gear ala Reakt 200/CCM Fitlite
