Left catch goalies are using right catch sticks now? Is this the new goaltending gear meta?

I guess it makes sense from a rebound control standpoint… and I just watched the goalie turn his stick over and grip the top with the pocket of his catch mitt to play the puck. Interesting.

Custom everything.

Just Matt Dalton things. He has been doing this forever and it isn't something catching on.

CuJo handled the puck like that too. Don’t know about his curve though.

Halla has a really good short-pass and skating game but man compared to American/Canadian players they just can't keep up physically. I thought Halla actually played a better game overall, at least until the 3rd period.

Custom everything.

Might be because they needed another pair to put the Reverse Retro sleeves over. It'd be nice to see if his home/away sets have changed.

I agree I thought the same thing. I wonder how similar the pads are. I’ve only worn Jofa nor Bauer 1000s

Almost all elbow pads today are Jofa imitations.

We have a new ECHL in our province. Trois-Rivieres Lions.

Here's what they look like on the ice:

Interesting sleeve stripes. Reminds me of the Olympic jerseys from 2006 (?)

I'm a bit surprised no one posted these yet:

both are awful but it really bothers my OCD that the Ss in Smashville are different sizes.  :penallty:

oh wow I didn't even notice that second S... it looks like when you misspell a word as a kid and try to squeeze a missing letter in, that's terrible.  The Bolts one I don't mind, it's a Stadium Series jersey and they've always been bold and had a certain aesthetic, that seems to work with that, not nearly as bad as their black practice/third jerseys.

It's kind of sad that the ECHL jersey above it looks a million times better than the NHL offerings.

I just watched them play the Florida Everblades on Saturday night. They ended up winning 6-3. Very skilled team but weak physically. Florida was playing them hard. I laughed because probably 3/4 of the team has French-Canadian names.

Having seen a few games in Nashville, “Smash” and “Smashville” are a huge part of the culture down there. I’m sure that’s the crowd they’re trying to appeal to. I may be way off here but my take on the fan base is that there are fewer savvy die hard hockey traditionalists, and more pure fans of the “home team,” which happens to be a hockey team.

For a few games I can dig it but permanently it would be brutal.
