How different are 9070 9080 9090 Jofa shins from each other? I What are the RBK equivalents? And what also throws me is the other lines of 5090,6090,etc. Any explantion would be great. And all pro stocks are made in Sweden correct? Did the Swedish plant ever put out retail pads? Thanks!

Thats a great question, I was going to ask the same thing soon. I have the 6090s and these shins are tanks, atleast for me! I picked them up for $15 at a play it again so I don't think I could have went wrong?

Jofa 5090 = RBK 8K Pro, Jofa 6070 = RBK 7K Pro. Those are the ones the NHLers use, that's what comes out of their dressing rooms. Anything else with similar numbers (ex: 6090, 8090, 9070) is a version of the models mentioned, but with minor differences.

How cool is this?

And Sweden made shins that were sold at retail. Jofa 8090s were priced at $199 back in the late 90's. Guess how many they sold?

That's why they are so rare.

So with the 6090,8090,9070 are those still pro stock? Or are they sort of like retail pro stock versions?

I was wondering if that was the case. I bet those 9070's I saw on ebay a few days ago were retail made in Sweden.

Those would have been retail. Pretty sure the 5090s were available at retail too, the only thing really making them "pro stock" is if they come from an NHL locker room or not.

So B33f you think those 9070's were likely retail? Makes me not feel too bad missing out on those then. The whole made in sweden thing threw me off.

 Thanks for clearing some of that up. The different series and numbering throw me off.
