Ian, any idea if the AX1 has more interior volume than a similar Franchise? I have two pairs of 13N pro stock Franchises and they are definitely tighter fitting than these. The Versteeg's feel looser on my hands, and the thumb is easily 1/2" longer than my Franchises. I'll try to upload a comparison pic later...

Are the other 2 13N stock or a player glove? They may have ad adjustments made to them you arent aware of.

First pair are Krug Franchises. There's a pair for sale on here that are 14W, but mine are his 13N.
Other pair were Tampa, no name. They fit almost identical to the Krug's. Just different palms and beefier plastics because they're advanced.
I think the one thing I can tell for sure is the difference in finger length. Both pairs of Franchises have shorter fingers than the Versteeg's. Probably a 1/4" difference.

The ax1s have slightly curved backrolls as a standard feature in comparison to the franchise where the bankrolls came out flat before being broken in. That could be what you're feeling.
