I may have missed this in the 11 pages, but how do the 7000 or 520 fit compared to a retail pant like the new 16k?

 

I tried the new 16K on in store and for $90 they feel like the give  good amount of protection for non contact rec league dudes which I believe most of us are.  I also tried on Bauer Nexus 800 pants and those were pretty nice as well.  Both had a similar fit.  I think the 16K in the waist/kidney protection area was a little more form fitting.  Which i liked.  I think the 16K's legs weren't as wide as the Bauer, but not by much.

 

Anyway, back to the original topic.  retail 16k (or 18K or 20K) fit compared to the others.

Although I assume the answer is yes, can anyone tell me if the lowers of the 7000 and 520 are interchangeable? I bought a pair of each from HM but they are different lengths and will hope to make the best combo

did you ever find out, i got stuck with an extra pair of 7000 lowers and want to buy 520's and use the 7000's with the 520 uppers. thanks

^ the factory button holes do not line up properly between 7000s and 520s if I recall correctly. I sold my 520s so I can't double check, but I remember trying it. Both pairs were the same size too.

i have read, the reebok 7000's and tackla 5000x are pretty much the same pant. can i match up my 7000 lowers and 5000x uppers. thanks

do 520's have suspender buttons. thanks

Not usually. But what I do is use the buttons on the uppers. Work just fine.

520 lowers and CCM HP35 uppers XL I recieveed today and they are already in the mail back to the seller.  I wear a 38 waist.   I am 5' 9" and ordered Dallas Stars XL's.  They were HUGE!!  These would have fit a guy with a waist of 40-44.  Tons of padding.  Felt like I could stop a bullet with them.

Again, they were HP35 lowers as well

digging deep into the archives.. is there a place on the ccm hp35 pants to put suspenders?

I just use the buttons that attach to the lowers
