All-time: Yzerman. Met him a few times when I'd accompany my aunt's school group to meet the players. She works with special needs kids and I volunteered at the school so they'd let me go with them. Yzerman was always such a class act when we'd show up. Always greeted everyone with a smile and handshake. He seemed to really appreciate the fanfare. I was actually surprised when he remembered my name the second time I went with the group.
Current: Nik Kronwall. Yeah, I know some of hits are dirty, but he reminds me of Konstantinov in the sense that for a physical d-man, he is considered to be on the small side. His play over the last couple of seasons has, in my opinion, made him a top 10 d-man in the league.

Yesterday, in the spirit of the "House", I was trying to find the Bill Clinton Stevie "Es-zearman" speech. That was so funny. Couldn't locate it though.
Stevie Y is like James Dean, Steve McQueen cool. Happened to play great hockey too.

Was talking about Datsyuk with another forum member & coach. They frame by frame him - keying in on his skating. He says all those dangles are derived from his incredible footwork & I agree.
The Joffrey Lupul story is an interesting one of perseverance. Same for David Booth and both are playing great hockey now.

When I was growing up I idolized Potvin and Roy. I was a goalie until about grade 11/12 so when I was young I'd watch Potvin on tv and wear my pads in the basement. Other than that it was Douggie and Sundin.
Now, I don't really have a favourite...I find that being the same age as some of the players there's no one in particular. I guess I enjoy watching Lundqvist and Subban play.

I really liked Super Mario Lemieux, but my favourite player growing up was definitely the Russian Rocket Pavel Bure. I think he's the most exciting player that ever played the game. Everytime he touched the puck something special was about ton happen!
Due to 3 tree hrs difference with where I live I used to put my alarm on to make sure I don't missed the Canucks game!!!!
Now my favourite player is Ilya Kovalchuk but I also like Stamkos & Gaborik.
