I've been sharpening for one of my son's high school teammates. His father has a Sparx , but wanted to try FBV. I put him on 95/75 which he now loves. He's coming from 1/2" ROH on the Sprax. What Fire ring would feel closest to 95/75? He knows it won't be the same, but Dad is hoping to get close-ish.

Still using my Sparx. I somehow have 5 sets of black steel I rotate through, and I’ll sharpen a set after 4 or 5 skates (or sooner if I catch a rut and slam my blade against something). I bought the rubber deburring “stone” and the imperfections I mentioned 6 years ago are now a non-issue. Love my machine and pretty sure I will never go back to a hand-sharpen unless it’s by one of two individuals I trust with my steel (one of them being me).
Custom everything.
