It'll be interesting to see if Step's QC is impacted by this. Glad I have a few sets of steel for my Bauers
Step's process and QC will not be affected, they do something extremely well and thats why we've joined forces. They will still be producing in the same canadian facilities and have maintained all of their existing work force.
We are still honoring the contract with True through 2020 but are currently evaluating the options beyond that.

Anyone knows why everyone is saying CCM steel is trash in the past?
The scalloped steel on the E-Pro and Pro-lite holder was the worst for cracking/breaking.
Rocket Runners are another that come up. Most complaints were from sharpeners because you had to clamp onto the plastic instead of the steel. Unfortunately many were too lazy to set the jig lower to account for the added blade width.
On the current gen steel, it sharpens and performs fine. People weren't fond of the black steel because it was a paint compared to what the other companies like Step were offering.
CCM has improved significantly in the last 15 years. Discontinuing the Tacks name were some dark days.
