Harv, really sorry to hear that - in everyone's frustration about the lockout I think it's easy to lose sight of all the hard working people that this thing directly impacts

Yeah I do and I really hope the players don't reject this. I'm sure there is stuff in small print that I couldn't understand and will somehow benefit the owners but 50/50 should get this done. Drop the puck!!!Anyone else see this as a PR move by the NHL?

The rejection won't come with the 50/50 issue, but there are some other small issues that will need to be worked out.

I know everyone wants hockey, but for the players... they realize they aren't going to get anything near 57% anymore... there will be a decrease... I think they are just trying to fight for a GRADUAL decrease... and keep the decrease as low as possible. 50/50 is obviously fair..... but I agree with the thought of gradually lowering it to 50/50... The players make this game happen, and in the end, the owners would get what they want.
50/50 being fair is kind of a fallacy. It all depends on how they redefine HRR in relation to the previous CBA. While the percentage they share may only drop 7%, in reality it wouldn't equal the same in dollar amounts depending on how the NHL defines HRR in the new CBA.
