How do they compare to the one95s?

The fit is pretty similar around the ankle and toes, the 1-piece boot wraps your arch and heel much closer though. I bought a set of Speedplates thinking I’d use them since that’s what I used in the One95s but I’m just on regular footbeds now (not even the CCM Orthomoves) and they feel the same as the One95s with Speedplate 1.0 in the arch and heel.

The boot itself has a forward pitch, so much so that when I first skated on them coming from the One95s they almost had me falling forward (whereas on the One95s I’m standing straight with the center of gravity between the arch and heel). Second time skating on them felt more comfortable, definitely can take turns tighter than on the One95s without feeling like I’m going to bottom out.

Custom everything.

Careful.  Once you go full-time to the FT4 Pro it's hard to go back to any Bauer skate.  I tried 2X Pro and HyperLites, and they felt as flat as 2x4's on the ice.  The FT4 Pro pitch makes skating feel easier to me.

Same experience for me going from Vapors to FT2s.

It’s an adjustment I’m still making, but I definitely feel faster because of the forward pitch forcing me more on my toes. Can’t wait to get used to it.

Finally got a few skates in. Love the fit, though I've noticed that I have to wear thinner socks or else I'll get some more pressure by the ankle padding. Fits just like the One95s with Speed Plate 1.0s in them.

Custom everything.

Gradually moving to Jetspeeds as my go-to mitt. Picked these Leafs gloves up, but the blue is too bright for the team I wanted to wear them for. Going to try and find a pair of the Avs navy alt gloves instead

What’s the fit like on the jetspeeds? I’ve been thinking about giving em a try. I’ve been a long time vapor guy

Man, I really, REALLY wanted to like the Jetspeed gloves, among many other pieces of CCM gear I've been trying recently, but as a long-time Bauer guy myself (Vapor & Supreme when it comes to gloves), I just can't seem to bring myself to convert. It just doesn't feel... right? The cycle seems to be:

1.) Try out a piece of CCM gear.
2.) Quickly switch back to the Bauer equivalent I was using before.
3.) Play and feel measurably better and wonder why the hell I ever thought of making a change.

It's actually really frustrating, given how much I hate Bauer for putting out increasingly anemic gear at obscene prices at retail over the last few years.

This must be how spouses in abusive relationships feel.

I wear 14’s in every other glove, including jetspeed retail gloves, but 14’s in pro stock are massive. 13’s fit great

I forget if it was here or over on MSH, but I seem to recall a CCM rep stating that pro stock CCM gloves are 1/4" longer in the fingers than their retail counterparts.

I’ve never had to my hockey gear choice explained so perfectly. Thank you, kind sir.

Having been a Bauer guy for so long, the True TF9 was a revelation in fit for me and felt like the boot actually made me a better skater. Since cracking the shell of my skates a few months back I decided to take the plunge and try out the Cat 9. Didn't take people's advice, and stuck with the same size as the TF9. After baking these still fit although I can feel less space in the toe box (likely how it was redesigned), and moved the tongue up about 1/2" from where I previously had it. We'll see how they feel on ice Friday night. Was not a fan of the yellow highlights at all so I got to blacking them out minus the tornado which I can't think of a way how to do.

Huge thanks to Jake (Golden Gate Sharpening) for swapping out the Shift Max for XS holders!
