I think having seperate liveries on the cars in NASCAR helps make the drivers more indentifiable and marketable. For example, when you see that green Go Daddy car you think of Danica Patrick and when you see the Dupont car you think of Jeff Gordon, etc. I dont watch NASCAR but I get the impression that fans cheer for specific drivers regardless of what car they are in. I think with F1 you get fans that cheer for specific teams a la Ferrari and the Tifosi. But like SPhilly said, I dont think it's really fair to compare different racing series.
Besides two wheel racing is much more exciting.
