Agreed. You need an upgrade of shin.
My go to shin is also Tacks AS-V Pro. Love them. You shouldnt feel like a shot like you did unless its Zdeno Chara shot

Upgrading is the right choice but I’ve also cut sheets of poron and stuck them to the inside of the shell around the base of the shin where shots tend to find

Good Idea; Whistling while you work.

Bad Idea; Whistling while you eat.

I might see how far some good foam sheets will take me.  I loved my Warrior HD pro shin guards until they cracked, but I would always catch pucks on the inside of my knee.  I tried the Super Tacks, but didn't find them that comfortable.  I got the vapors because the knee cap wrapped my knee really well; it felt like the sides of my knees would be the most protected.

What Jofa models should I keep an eye out for that would be similar in fit?  I remember wearing Reebok 4K's for a season growing up, but my skinny little chicken legs were swimming in them.

Random question for you guys that have modified shoulder pads a lot.... do Junior shoulder caps fit on a senior pad?

I had been using a pair of CLs with lower profile RBZ caps, but upgraded to FT6 pros. I like them, but the shoulder caps are bulky-ish like the previous versions. Found a pair of junior large pads that could be used as a donor for caps, but wanted to see if anyone had experience doing this before buying them

I got a pair of Canucks compression shorts that holds a jock. They don't have velcro on them, for the socks. Does anyone know where I can get the velcro attachments, so I can put them on?

Michaels, Home Depot, Target, etc. just look for sew on velcro, the sticky back stuff will be a nightmare.  I'd go with something wide, maybe 2"? then just cut to size and sew on, most velcro sets come with both sides so cut the felt side to match and stick back on after you use them to keep from getting snagged on stuff.  I stopped using the velcro after I switched from a 9K girdle to a ST one (the 9K had the velcro on the girdle), also most pro socks now don't have the velcro tabs so I changed over to a garter belt which I now prefer.

Not a bad idea! Thanks, I'll check it out. I thought about pulling some off an old pair of hockey shorts, but they're glued and stitched together. Figured it would be a nightmare to take off.
