I’ve worn both and wasn’t overly impressed with either outside of them both being quite light. 9K and Supertacks are definitely the upper echelon of girdles IMO. Also, putting your skates on first is absolute psychopath behaviour.

I like to keep at least 2 with the same specs, sometimes three. That way if I break one I’m not scrambling to find the same specs again. I also tend to go through phases with curves so I’ll have sticks with all P92, P90T, or P28 and then dump them all for sticks with whichever of those 3 I’m liking at that moment.

Honestly even with the tacki Mac, they’re not going to survive all that long. I used to wear a pair of Havlat’s franchise gloves that had those palms and just like digital, they tend to develop holes in between two fingers at the base.

Are the 3X Pro not just the same construction as the Hyperlite?

My only beef with the Bauer’s is that while they are low profile, the crappy hard foam shoulder caps crack. It would suck to have a nicely broken in shoulder pad that you’re comfortable with and then have the cap crack.

Been through a similar phase where I was buying and selling shoulder pads like crazy looking for that perfect low profile fit. I’ve had 1X lite, RBZ, CL, Tacks Pro, FT1, Pro Series, and FT4 pro. Each had pros and cons but I’d say the Bauer Pro series, Tacks, and FT4 Pro are my favourites. They all have similar cap thicknesses but I’m currently rotating between the Tacks and the FT4 pro. The Pro Series would likely be my favourite if the shoulder cap didn’t get getting stuck on the arm pit area of the shoulder pad.

Nothings going to be as low profile as the 5030 but you’re going to have to do a bit of a trade off to have something that’s more protective. If you’re playing in a league that’s not quite as chippy with most guys going no shoulders, I’d go FT4 Pro. Stupidly light and as low profile as the modern pads get.

When CCM first changed their logo, it appeared overly bold and overall terrible on the pants/shells.

Just picked up this medium coyotes tacks shell and it looks like they finally got that all sorted out.

I actually went through the exact same ridiculous search a few years back. 13” Jetspeed were tiny in the actual palm, 14” felt massive to me, 14” tacks felt sloppy at best, but I never bothered to try a 13” tacks. For what it’s worth, I found the 14” HG97 to fit pretty well.

Maybe the "Color: Black" information might help you if you read it.
