#386345 True tongue on Ccm FT4 Pro's

Posted by daveski7 on 15 June 2023 - 06:09 PM in Hockey Gear

Ft 490 has a shallower toe box as well you might not need anything. I had Ft2s and didn't use the Power Feet inserts. Only when I got the 100 KS did I need them. Try on the new skates before you do anything. That is just my .02

They take up any negative space you have. Kind of reminds me of the fit of the Mako II's

I assume you're referring to the power feet inserts here and not the tongues?

#386325 True tongue on Ccm FT4 Pro's

I had the same issue with my 100ks and use Powerfoot inserts and makes all the difference in the world and only $20. Check them out before messing with tongues.

Yes the Power Feet. Gives the fit of the Mako II as all negative space is filled but cushy, not a hard toe cap. If I remember correctly the Makos had either felt in the toe cap or the tongue extended into the toe cap but either way had a super close fit

#385810 Speedblade XS dial replacement

Posted by daveski7 on 06 May 2023 - 11:09 PM in Hockey Gear

Not to sound stupid but does it tighten without trying to put in steel? Alot of aftermarket steel is thicker. When I put in black Step Steel I have to make sure to bang in steel a bit or dial will not turn. Obviously if it won't turn with no steel then disregard. Lol

#387953 SkTe sizing. Tapered vs Regular

Posted by daveski7 on 22 November 2023 - 07:00 PM in Hockey Gear

Good evening, looking on some insight into the difference between a Tapered fit and a Regular fit in skates. Is it more than width? Instep, heel pocket, etc. Are these different as well? Any input welcomed. Thanks

#386779 Skate Break in

Posted by daveski7 on 03 August 2023 - 06:13 PM in Hockey Gear

From fitting ski boots for many years it sounds like you are either in the wrong arch sole or the actual arch support in whatever soles you are using is either too far forward or back. I highly doubt that your feet are so flat that the skate is doing the damage. It is not rocket science but finding the correct inner sole for any footwear is 1000% crucial
